He's Your Son
As Mrs. Evans walked though the department store, a number of parents were dismayed to see her three-year old was on a dog harness. He was tied to the shopping cart and when she wanted to move she would say in a quiet voice, "On you Huskies."
The stocky little boy would lower his body and dig deep into make-believe snow and pull the basket full of school clothes, quite pleased with himself.
The young mother looked over at me and sighed, "It only makes him stronger."
I replied, "Yes, but someday you may need him to carry you and he will be as strong as an ox."
She looked down at her little man, eagerly waiting for the command, smiled a tired smile and quietly, calmly whispered, "Mush."
