Alzheimer's

Forget-me-nots

Forget-me-nots

Yesterday I was driving around the north side of town searching for a particular address. I turned into a retirement facility parking lot to turn around and lo and behold there was a long lost friend of mine standing in a large picture window, smiling and waving at me. I was bowled over. Here I was miles from home, lost and looking for directions and there was Marlene. Marlene has been a very close family friend for years. I parked and nearly ran through the door, hugged her and reintroduced myself. A beautiful woman and a wonderful person she beamed at me as she cradled a brown stuffed puppy-dog. The last few years have taken away many things from my friend but the one thing that seems to never let go is...love. Thank you Marlene for showing me where I should be going.
